JKC - Profile

ABOUT JAWAHAR KNOWLEDGE CENTRE (JKC):

The Jawahar Knowledge Centre (JKC) was initiated by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in 2005 to address the issue of unemployment among students studying non-professional courses in degree colleges in Andhra Pradesh. The program recognized the growing demand for skilled individuals in the global job market, particularly in the areas of computer skills, communication skills, and industry-related skills.

The primary objective of JKC is to provide intensive training to students in employable skills, enabling them to seize the opportunities available in the global job market. The program specifically aims to reach out to the poorest and marginalized sections of society, including students from rural areas who may lack access to the advantages enjoyed by their urban counterparts. By providing these students with the latest technologies, skill-upgrading opportunities, and encouragement to compete, JKC seeks to empower them to improve their standards of living.

Since its inception, JKC has received overwhelming response and has been successful in achieving its objectives. The centers, established within degree colleges, boast world-class infrastructure and experienced faculty who are dedicated to providing the best training to students. Through JKC, students are motivated to realize their potential, set high goals in life, and develop qualities such as creativity, independence, and self-reliance. The program also instills confidence in students, enabling them to contribute to the economic and intellectual prosperity of the country.

Overall, the Jawahar Knowledge Centre in Andhra Pradesh has been instrumental in bridging the gap between education and employment by equipping students with the necessary skills to succeed in the global job market. It has particularly benefited students from disadvantaged backgrounds, empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and contribute to the growth and development of the country.
